Every person who believes (trusts) in Jesus will be forgiven. God will forgive the sins of that person through the name of Jesus. All the prophets {\cf2\super [215]} say this is true.”
They said to him, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved—you and all these people from your house.”
So faith comes from hearing \{the Good News {\cf2\super [110]} \}. And people hear \{the Good News\} when a person tells them about Christ.
Tell me this one thing: How did you receive the Spirit {\cf2\super [19]} ? Did you receive the Spirit by following the law {\cf2\super [20]} ? No! You received the Spirit because you heard \{the Good News {\cf2\super [21]} \} and believed it.
Does God give you the Spirit because you follow the law? No! Does God work miracles {\cf2\super [22]} among you because you follow the law? No! God gives you his Spirit and works miracles among you because you heard \{the Good News\} and believed it.
He died to make the church holy. {\cf2\super [40]} Christ used the telling of the Good News {\cf2\super [41]} to make the church clean by washing it with water.
No, the word is very near to you! It is in your mouth and in your heart. So you can obey it!
Tell these things to the brothers and sisters there. This will show that you are a good servant of Christ Jesus. You will show that you are made strong by the words of faith and good teaching that you have followed.
You have been born again. This new life did not come from something that dies. It came from something that cannot die. You were born again through God’s living message {\cf2\super [11]} that continues forever.
