Joseph stayed in Egypt until Herod {\cf2\super [26]} died. This happened to make clear the full meaning of what the Lord said through the prophet. {\cf2\super [27]} The Lord said, “I called my son to come out of Egypt.” {\cf2\super [28]}
Joseph went to a town called Nazareth and lived there. And so the thing happened that God said through the prophets. {\cf2\super [32]} God said that \{the Christ\} would be called a Nazarene. {\cf2\super [33]}

Jesus did these things to make happen what Isaiah the prophet {\cf2\super [95]} said:
Jesus said to them, “Remember when I was with you before? I said that everything written about me must happen—everything written in the law of Moses, the books of the prophets, {\cf2\super [396]} and the Psalms.”
But this happened so that what is written in their law would be true: ‘They hated me for no reason.’ {\cf2\super [219]}
Later, Jesus knew that everything had been done. To make the Scriptures {\cf2\super [250]} happen he said, “I am thirsty.” {\cf2\super [251]}
