For this reason, I will reward him among my people. He will have a share of all things with the people that are strong. \{I will do this for him\} because he gave his life for the people and died.


They also put two robbers on crosses beside Jesus. They put one robber beside Jesus on the right, and they put the other robber beside Jesus on the left.


Then Jesus talked to the twelve apostles {\cf2\super [292]} alone. Jesus said to them, “Listen! We are going to Jerusalem. Everything that God told the prophets {\cf2\super [293]} to write about the Son of Man {\cf2\super [294]} will happen!


The Son of Man {\cf2\super [351]} will do what God has planned. But it will be very bad for that person who gives the Son of Man \{to be killed\}.”


Jesus said to them, “But now if you have money or a bag, carry that with you. If you don’t have a sword, sell your coat and buy one.


The group that came to arrest Jesus were the leading priests, the older Jewish leaders, and the Jewish soldiers. Jesus said to them, “Why did you come out here with swords and sticks? Do you think I am a criminal?


There were also two criminals led out with Jesus to be killed.


Then Jesus began to explain everything that had been written about himself in the Scriptures. {\cf2\super [393]} Jesus started with the books of Moses and then he talked about what the prophets had said about him.


This Scripture {\cf2\super [171]} called those people gods—the people that received God’s message. And Scripture is always true.


I finished the work you gave me to do. I brought you glory on earth.


The law put a curse on us. But Christ took away that curse. He changed places with us. Christ put himself under that curse. The Scriptures say, “When a person’s body is put (hung) on a tree, {\cf2\super [32]} that person is under a curse.” {\cf2\super [33]}
