Compared to God, no person is good.\par No human being {\cf2\super [45]} can really be pure.\par
The angel said to Mary, “The Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [15]} will come to you and the power of the Most High (God) will cover you. The baby will be holy. He will be called the Son of God.
\{You are like all other people\}—you are evil. But you know how to give good things to your children. So surely your heavenly Father knows how to give the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [200]} to those people that ask him.”
A \{Jewish\} leader asked Jesus, “Good teacher, what must I do to get the life that continues forever?”
\{But I will answer your question.\} You know \{God’s\} commands: ‘You must not do the sin of adultery, {\cf2\super [290]} you must not murder anyone, you must not steal anything, you must not tell lies about other people, you must honor (respect) your father and mother….’ {\cf2\super [291]} ”
So Jesus is the kind of high priest {\cf2\super [73]} that we need. He is holy. {\cf2\super [74]} He has no sin in him. He is pure and not influenced by sinners. And he is raised above the heavens.
Everything good comes from God. And every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky (sun, moon, stars). But God never changes \{like those lights\}. He is always the same.
