You should follow the teachings and the agreement. {\cf2\super [105]} If you don’t follow these commands, then you might follow the wrong commands. (The wrong commands are those commands that come from the wizards and fortune tellers. Those commands are worth nothing; you will gain nothing by following those commands.)


Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? Only God is good.


But the leader said, “I have obeyed all these commands since I was a boy!”


\{Why do I say this?\} Because the law says, “You must not do the sin of adultery, {\cf2\super [136]} you must not murder anyone, you must not steal anything, you must not want things that belong to other people.” {\cf2\super [137]} All these commands and all other commands are really only one rule: “Love other people the same as you love yourself.” {\cf2\super [138]}


Why? Because no person can be made right with God by following the law. The law only shows us our sin.


The command says, “You must honor (respect) your father and mother.” {\cf2\super [44]} That is the first command that has a promise with it.


Children, obey your parents in all things. This pleases the Lord.
