Deuteronomy 32:28
12 Tagairtí Cros

And God said to people,\par “Fear and respect the Lord—\par that is wisdom.\par Don’t do evil things—\par that is understanding.”\par

So I let them do what they wanted to do.\par Israel did anything they wanted to do.\par

The first thing a person must learn is to respect and obey the Lord—that leads to true wisdom. But evil people hate discipline and true wisdom.

The vines will become dry. And the branches will break off. Women will use those branches for firewood.

So I will continue to amaze these people by doing powerful and amazing things. Their wise men will lose their wisdom. Their wise men will not be able to understand.”

\{God said,\} “My people are foolish.\par They don’t know me.\par They are stupid children.\par They don’t understand.\par They are skillful at doing evil,\par but they don’t know how to do good.”\par

Those ‘wise people’ refused to listen\par to the Lord’s teachings.\par So they are not really wise people at all.\par Those ‘wise people’ were trapped.\par They became shocked and ashamed.\par

“My people are destroyed because they have no knowledge. You have refused to learn. So I will refuse to let you be a priest for me. You have forgotten the law of your God, so I will forget your children.

I want you to understand this secret truth, brothers and sisters. This truth will help you understand that you don’t know everything. The truth is this: Part of Israel {\cf2\super [124]} has been made stubborn. But that will change when enough non-Jews have come to God.

Why? Because the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. It is like the Scriptures {\cf2\super [21]} say, “He (God) catches the wise (smart) people when they use their sneaky ways.” {\cf2\super [22]}

Is that the way you should pay back the Lord {for all that he did for you? No!} You are stupid, foolish people. The Lord is your Father. He made you. He is your Creator. He supports you.
