Then the rulers and all the people spoke. Those people said to the priests and the prophets, “Jeremiah must not be killed. The things Jeremiah told us come from the Lord our God.”
Then some of the elders (leaders) stood up and spoke to all the people.

After three days they found him. Jesus was sitting in the temple {\cf2\super [42]} area with the religious teachers, listening and asking them questions.
One day Jesus was teaching the people. The Pharisees {\cf2\super [94]} and teachers of the law were sitting there too. They had come from every town in Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. The Lord (God) was giving Jesus the power to heal people.
Jesus said, “You are an important teacher of Israel (the Jews). But you still don’t understand these things?
“I am a Jew. I was born in Tarsus in the country of Cilicia. I grew up in this city (Jerusalem). I was a student of Gamaliel. {\cf2\super [434]} He carefully taught me everything about the law of our fathers. {\cf2\super [435]} I was very serious about serving God, the same as all of you here today.
The Jewish leaders told them to leave the meeting. Then the leaders talked to each other about what they should do.
When the apostles heard this, they obeyed and went to the temple area. It was early in the morning. The apostles began to teach the people.
The soldiers brought the apostles {\cf2\super [96]} to the meeting and made them stand before the Jewish leaders. The high priest {\cf2\super [97]} questioned the apostles.
Then he said to them, “Men of Israel, be careful of what you are planning to do to these men!
