Psalm 76 - Easy To Read Version

¹ People in Judah know God.\par People in Israel respect God’s name.\par

² God’s temple is in Salem. {\cf2\super [432]} \par God’s house is on Mount Zion.\par

³ In that place, God shattered the bows\par and arrows, shields, swords, and\par other weapons of war.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [433]})\i0 \par

⁴ God, you are glorious coming back\par from the hills where you defeated\par your enemies.\par

⁵ Those soldiers thought they were strong.\par But now they lie dead in the fields.\par Their bodies are stripped of all they owned.\par None of those strong soldiers could defend themselves.\par

⁶ The God of Jacob yelled at those soldiers,\par and that army with chariots and horses fell dead.\par

^7-9 God, you are awesome!\par No person can stand against you\par when you are angry.\par

¹⁰ God, people respect you\par when you punish evil people.\par You show your anger,\par and the survivors {\cf2\super [434]} become stronger.\par

¹¹ People, you made promises\par to the Lord your God.\par Now, give him what you promised.\par People in every place\par fear and respect God.\par And they will bring gifts to him.\par

¹² God defeats great leaders.\par All the kings on earth fear him.\par
