I will put hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.


The Lord sent Chaldean, Aramean,  Moabite,  and Ammonite raiders against Jehoiakim. He sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the Lord he had spoken through his servants the prophets.


After this, the Moabites and Ammonites, together with some of the Meunites,  , came to fight against Jehoshaphat.


Let it be known to the king that we went to the house of the great God in the province of Judah. It is being built with cut  stones, and its beams are being set in the walls. This work is being done diligently and succeeding through the people’s efforts.


When Sanballat the Horonite  and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard that someone had come to pursue the prosperity of the Israelites, they were greatly displeased.


When Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official,  and Geshem the Arab  heard about this, they mocked and despised us, and said, ‘What is this you’re doing? Are you rebelling against the king? ’


When Sanballat  heard that we were rebuilding the wall,  he became furious. He mocked the Jews


So we rebuilt the wall until the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had the will to keep working.


They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and throw it into confusion.


When all our enemies  heard this, all the surrounding nations were intimidated  and lost their confidence,  for they realised that this task had been accomplished by our God.


and all the mixed peoples; all the kings of the land of Uz; all the kings of the land of the Philistines #– #Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;


Then Ishmael took captive all the rest of the people of Mizpah, including the daughters of the king #– #all those who remained in Mizpah, over whom Nebuzaradan, captain of the guards, had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam. Ishmael son of Nethaniah took them captive and set off to cross over to the Ammonites.


The Lord says: I will not relent from punishing the Ammonites for three crimes, even four, because they ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to enlarge their territory.


I will cut off the ruler from Ashdod, and the one who wields the sceptre from Ashkelon. I will also turn my hand against Ekron, and the remainder of the Philistines  will perish. The Lord God has spoken.


Proclaim on the citadels in Ashdod and on the citadels in the land of Egypt: Assemble on the mountains of Samaria, and see the great turmoil in the city and the acts of oppression within it.


When they heard this, they were enraged and wanted to kill them.


So the dragon was furious with the woman and went off to wage war  against the rest of her offspring  ,  #– #those who keep the commands of God  and hold firmly to the testimony about Jesus.


Nahash the Ammonite replied, ‘I’ll make one with you on this condition: that I gouge out everyone’s right eye  and humiliate all Israel.’
