She said, ‘In the past they used to say, “Seek counsel in Abel,” and that’s how they settled disputes.


He appointed judges in all the fortified cities of the land of Judah, city by city.


You will have the cities as a refuge from the avenger,  so that the one who kills someone will not die until he stands trial before the assembly.


‘You have heard that it was said, Do not commit adultery.   ,


‘Again, you have heard that it was said to our ancestors, You must not break your oath, but you must keep your oaths to the Lord.   ,


‘You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.   ,


‘You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbour   , and hate your enemy.


‘Appoint judges and officials for your tribes in all your towns the Lord your God is giving you. They are to judge the people with righteous judgement.


Everyone who hates his brother or sister  is a murderer,  and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.
