All Israel heard about the judgement the king had given, and they stood in awe of the king because they saw that God’s wisdom  was in him to carry out justice.


He set military commanders over the people and gathered the people in the square of the city gate. Then he encouraged them,  , saying,


He has only human strength,  but we have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.’  So the people relied on the words of King Hezekiah of Judah.


A king sitting on a throne to judge separates out all evil with his eyes.


For you have been a stronghold for the poor person, a stronghold for the needy  in his distress, a refuge from storms and a shade from heat. When the breath of the violent is like a storm against a wall,


The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high; he has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.


when the Lord has washed away the filth  of the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodguilt  from the heart of Jerusalem by a spirit of judgement  and a spirit of burning.


Then each of the leaders of Judah will think to himself: The residents of Jerusalem are my strength through the Lord of Armies, their God.


For the one whom God sent speaks God’s words, since he  gives the Spirit  without measure.


‘I can do nothing on my own. I judge only as I hear, and my judgement   is just,   because I do not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me.


to one  is given a message of wisdom  through the Spirit; to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit;


For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you  against your enemies to give you victory.”


Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous?  Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.’
