‘I am a foreigner residing among you.  Give me burial property among you so that I can bury my dead.’  ,


wandering from nation to nation and from one kingdom to another,


For we are foreigners and temporary residents in your presence as were all our ancestors.  Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.


When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses,  ‘Because,’ she said, ‘I drew him out of the water.’


‘You must not exploit a resident foreigner  or oppress him, since you were resident foreigners in the land of Egypt.


So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey, and returned to the land of Egypt. And Moses took God’s staff  in his hand.


‘The land is not to be permanently sold because it is mine, and you are only foreigners and temporary residents on my land.  ,


‘When he heard this, Moses fled and became an exile in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.


The Danites set up the carved image for themselves. Jonathan son of Gershom, son of Moses,  and his sons were priests for the Danite tribe until the time of the exile from the land.


After some time,  Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel,  because she said, ‘I requested him from the Lord.’
