So he led the people around towards the Red Sea along the road of the wilderness. And the Israelites left the land of Egypt in battle formation.


‘Tell the Israelites to turn back and camp in front of Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea; you must camp in front of Baal-zephon, facing it by the sea.


The enemy said: ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil. My desire will be gratified at their expense. I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy   them.’


They travelled from Etham and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, which faces Baal-zephon, and they camped before Migdol.


When I brought your ancestors out of Egypt and you reached the Red Sea,  the Egyptians pursued your ancestors with chariots and horsemen as far as the sea.
