They refused to listen and did not remember your wonders which you performed among them. Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognising that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God has chosen you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through belief in the truth.
and the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
