7 I will make known the  Lord’s faithful love and the Lord’s praiseworthy acts, because of all the  Lord has done for us – even the many good things he has done for the house of Israel, which he did for them based on his compassion and the abundance of his faithful love.

On the fifteenth day  he sent the people away. So they blessed the king and went to their homes  rejoicing and with happy hearts for all the goodness that the Lord had done for his servant David and for his people Israel.


On the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people home,  rejoicing and with happy hearts for the goodness the Lord had done for David, for Solomon, and for his people Israel.


They captured fortified cities and fertile land and took possession of well-supplied houses, cisterns cut out of rock, vineyards, olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance. They ate, were filled, became prosperous, and delighted in your great goodness.


So you handed them over to their enemies, who oppressed them. In their time of distress, they cried out to you, and you heard from heaven. In your abundant compassion you gave them deliverers, who rescued them from the power of their enemies.


However, in your abundant compassion, you did not destroy them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and compassionate God.


When they were in their kingdom, with your abundant goodness that you gave them, and in the spacious and fertile land you set before them, they would not serve you or turn from their wicked ways.


Jethro rejoiced over all the good things the Lord had done for Israel when he rescued them from the power of the Egyptians.


Lord our God, lords other than you have owned   us, but we remember your name alone.


Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who gave birth to you. When I called him, he was only one; I blessed him and made him many.


Though the mountains move and the hills shake, my love will not be removed from you and my covenant of peace  will not be shaken,’ says your compassionate Lord.


‘I deserted you for a brief moment, but I will take you back with abundant compassion.


In a surge of anger I hid my face  from you for a moment, but I will have compassion on you with everlasting love,’ says the Lord your Redeemer.


Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the  Lord, so that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will freely forgive.


You welcome the one who joyfully does what is right; they remember you in your ways. But we have sinned, and you were angry. How can we be saved if we remain in our sins?


Even if he causes suffering, he will show compassion according to the abundance of his faithful love.


I will take you to be my wife for ever. I will take you to be my wife in righteousness, justice, love, and compassion.


How lovely and beautiful! Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine, the young women.


If you then, who are evil,   know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him.


Or do you despise the riches of his kindness,  restraint,  and patience,  not recognising  that God’s kindness  is intended to lead you to repentance?


The law came along to multiply the trespass.  But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more,


But God, who is rich in mercy,  because of his great love  that he had for us,


and the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
