Nothing was in the ark except the two stone tablets that Moses had put there at Horeb,  , where the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites when they came out of the land of Egypt.


Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets that Moses had put in it at Horeb,  , where the Lord had made a covenant with the Israelites when they came out of Egypt.


As he approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, Moses became enraged and threw the tablets out of his hands, smashing them at the base of the mountain.


The Lord said to Moses, ‘Cut two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.


Moses took the testimony  and placed it in the ark, and attached the poles to the ark. He set the mercy seat on top of the ark.


and I went back down the mountain and placed the tablets in the ark I had made. And they have remained there, as the Lord commanded me.’


He declared his covenant  to you. He commanded you to follow the Ten Commandments,  which he wrote on two stone tablets.


It had the gold altar of incense and the ark of the covenant, covered with gold on all sides, in which was a gold jar containing the manna, Aaron’s staff that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.
