I will confirm my covenant that is between me and you and your future offspring throughout their generations. It is a permanent covenant  to be your God and the God of your offspring after you.


For I have chosen  him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. This is how the Lord will fulfil to Abraham what he promised him.’


A righteous person acts with integrity; his children who come after him will be happy.


I will give them integrity of heart  and action  so that they will fear me always, for their good and for the good of their descendants after them.


Whoever believes   and is baptised will be saved,   but whoever does not believe will be condemned.


For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.’


I know that his command is eternal life.   So the things that I speak, I speak just as the Father has told me.’


But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah,  the Son  of God,  , and that by believing you may have life in his name.


The father  realised this was the very hour at which Jesus had told him, ‘Your son will live.’ So he himself believed, along with his whole household.


The Spirit   is the one who gives life. The flesh doesn’t help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.


Simon Peter  answered, ‘Lord, to whom will we go? You have the words of eternal life.


He was a devout man and feared God along with his whole household. He did many charitable deeds for the Jewish people and always prayed to God.


They said, ‘Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who has a good reputation with the whole Jewish nation, was divinely instructed by a holy angel to call you to his house and to hear a message from you.’


All the prophets testify  about him that through his name  everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins.’


He is lodging with Simon, a tanner, whose house is by the sea.’


He reported to us how he had seen the angel standing in his house and saying, “Send to Joppa, and call for Simon, who is also named Peter.


After she and her household were baptised, she urged us, ‘If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my house.’  And she persuaded us.


Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, along with his whole household.  Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptised.


For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off,  as many as the Lord our God will call.’


I did, in fact, baptise the household  of Stephanas;  beyond that, I don’t recall whether I baptised anyone else.
