19 For I have chosen  him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. This is how the Lord will fulfil to Abraham what he promised him.’

I will bless those who bless you, I will curse anyone who treats you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed  through you.  ,


God also said to Abraham, ‘As for you, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations are to keep my covenant.


And all the nations of the earth will be blessed  by your offspring  because you have obeyed my command.’


So Jacob said to his family and all who were with him, ‘Get rid of the foreign gods that are among you.  Purify yourselves and change your clothes.


For I have kept the ways of the  Lord and have not turned from my God to wickedness.


What more can David say to you? You know your servant,  Lord God.
