When it was reported to David, ‘Uriah didn’t go home,’ David questioned Uriah, ‘Haven’t you just come from a journey? Why didn’t you go home? ’


The king asked, ‘Did Joab put you up to  all this? ’ The woman answered. ‘As you live, my lord the king, no one can turn to the right or left from all my lord the king says. Yes, your servant Joab is the one who gave orders to me; he told your servant exactly what to say.


So David said to Abishai, ‘Sheba son of Bichri will do more harm to us than Absalom. Take your lord’s soldiers and pursue him, or he will find fortified cities and elude us.’


the king said to the prophet Nathan,  ‘Look, I am living in a cedar house while the ark of God sits inside tent curtains.’


From the time I brought the Israelites out of Egypt until today I have not dwelt in a house; instead, I have been moving around with a tent as my dwelling.

So the people sent men to Shiloh to bring back the ark of the covenant of the Lord of Armies, who is enthroned between the cherubim.  Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
