But Jehoshaphat said, ‘Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Let’s enquire of the Lord through him.’ One of the servants of the king of Israel answered, ‘Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.’
However, Elisha said to King Joram of Israel, ‘What do we have in common? Go to the prophets of your father and your mother! ’ But the king of Israel replied, ‘No, because it is the Lord who has summoned these three kings to hand them over to Moab.’
Then Naaman and his whole company went back to the man of God, stood before him, and declared, ‘I know there’s no God in the whole world except in Israel. Therefore, please accept a gift from your servant.’
Kings will be your guardians and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the ground and lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who put their hope in me will not be put to shame.
The sons of your oppressors will come and bow down to you; all who reviled you will fall face down at your feet. They will call you the City of the Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
