The next morning Elkanah and Hannah got up early to worship before the Lord. Afterwards, they returned home to Ramah.  Then Elkanah was intimate with his wife Hannah, and the Lord remembered her.

The Lord came to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised.


Then God remembered Rachel. He listened to her and opened her womb.


The man was intimate with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain. She said, ‘I have had a male child with the Lord’s help.’


God remembered Noah,  as well as all the wildlife and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to pass over the earth,  and the water began to subside.


The woman conceived and gave birth to a son at the same time the following year, as Elisha had promised her.


Very  early in the morning, while it was still dark, he got up, went out, and made his way to a deserted place;  and there he was praying.


Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me  , when you come into your kingdom.’


There was a man from Ramathaim-zophim  in  the hill country of Ephraim.  His name was Elkanah  son of Jeroham, son of Elihu, son of Tohu, son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.


Making a vow,  she pleaded, ‘Lord of Armies, if you will take notice of your servant’s affliction,  remember and not forget me, and give your servant a son, I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.’  ,


Samuel went to Ramah,  and Saul went up to his home in Gibeah  of Saul.


So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him  in the presence of his brothers, and the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully on David from that day forward.  Then Samuel set out and went to Ramah.


So David fled and escaped and went to Samuel at Ramah  and told him everything Saul had done to him. Then he and Samuel left and stayed at Naioth.


Elkanah went home to Ramah,  but the boy served the Lord in the presence of the priest Eli.


Samuel died,  and all Israel assembled to mourn for him,  and they buried him by his home in Ramah.  David then went down to the Wilderness of Paran.  ,


Then he would return to Ramah  because his home was there, he judged Israel there, and he built an altar to the Lord there.


So all the elders of Israel gathered together and went to Samuel at Ramah.


They got up early, and just before dawn, Samuel called to Saul on the roof, ‘Get up, and I’ll send you on your way! ’ Saul got up, and both he and Samuel went outside.
