Then I liftedup my eyesand looked,and behold,[there was] a manwith a measuringlinein his hand.
"Behold,I Myselfhave createdthe smithwho blowsthe fireof coalsAnd bringsout a weaponfor its work;And I have createdthe destroyerto ruin.
"The measuringlinewill goout fartherstraightaheadto the hillGareb;then it will turnto Goah.
"The hornof Moabhas been cutoffand his armbroken,"declaresthe LORD.
So He broughtme there;and behold,there was a manwhose appearancewas like the appearanceof bronze,with a lineof flaxand a measuringrodin his hand;and he was standingin the gateway.
And behold,there was a wallon the outsideof the templeallaround,and in the man'shandwas a measuringrodof sixcubits,[each of which was] a cubitand a handbreadth.So he measuredthe thicknessof the wall,onerod;and the height,onerod.
When the manwentout toward the eastwith a linein his hand,he measureda thousandcubits,and he ledme throughthe water,water[reaching] the ankles.
Again he measureda thousandand ledme throughthe water,water[reaching] the knees.Again he measureda thousandand ledme through[the water], water[reaching] the loins.
"AfterthisI keptlookingin the nightvisions,and behold,a fourthbeast,dreadfuland terrifyingand extremelystrong;and it had largeironteeth.It devouredand crushedand trampleddownthe remainderwith its feet;and it was differentfrom allthe beaststhat were beforeit, and it had tenhorns.
Thereforethussaysthe LORD,"I will returnto Jerusalemwith compassion;My housewill be builtin it," declaresthe LORDof hosts,"and a measuringlinewill be stretchedoverJerusalem."'
Then I liftedup my eyesand looked,and behold,[there were] fourhorns.
Thenthere was givenme a measuring rodlikea staff;and someone said,"Getup and measurethe templeof Godand the altar,and thosewho worshipin it.
The one who spokewith me hada goldmeasuring rodto measurethe city,and its gatesand its wall.
