The righteousmanwill flourishlike the palmtree,He will growlike a cedarin Lebanon.
He spokeof trees,from the cedarthat is in Lebanoneven to the hyssopthat growson the wall;he spokealso of animalsand birdsand creepingthingsand fish.
Then he carvedallthe wallsof the houseroundaboutwith carvedengravingsof cherubim,palmtrees,and openflowers,innerand outer[sanctuaries].
Thus the Jewsstruckalltheir enemieswith the sword,killingand destroying;and they didwhatthey pleasedto those who hatedthem.
He will be like a tree[firmly] plantedby streamsof water,Whichyieldsits fruitin its seasonAnd its leafdoes not wither;And in whateverhe does,he prospers.
The treesof the LORDdrinktheir fill,The cedarsof LebanonwhichHe planted,
Mountainsand allhills;Fruittreesand allcedars;
Waitfor the LORDand keepHis way,And He will exaltyou to inheritthe land;When the wickedare cutoff,you will seeit.
But as for me, I am like a greenolivetreein the houseof God;I trustin the lovingkindnessof Godforeverand ever.
In his daysmay the righteousflourish,And abundanceof peacetillthe moonis nomore.
That when the wickedsproutedup likegrassAnd allwho didiniquityflourished,It [was only] that they might be destroyedforevermore.
"Insteadof the thornbushthe cypresswill comeup, And insteadof the nettlethe myrtlewill comeup, And it will be a memorialto the LORD,For an everlastingsignwhich will not be cutoff."
"They will not buildand anotherinhabit,They will not plantand anothereat;For as the lifetimeof a tree,[so will be] the daysof My people,And My chosenoneswill wearout the workof their hands.
"For he will be like a treeplantedby the water,That extendsits rootsby a streamAnd will not fearwhenthe heatcomes;But its leaveswill be green,And it will not be anxiousin a yearof droughtNorceaseto yieldfruit.
"Yet it was I who destroyedthe Amoritebeforethem, Though his height[was] like the heightof cedarsAnd he [was] strongas the oaks;I even destroyedhis fruitaboveand his rootbelow.
Then my enemywill see,And shamewill coverher who saidto me, "Whereis the LORDyour God?"My eyeswill lookon her; At that timeshe will be trampleddownLike mireof the streets.
"Like valleysthat stretchout, Like gardensbesidethe river,Like aloesplantedby the LORD,Like cedarsbesidethe waters.
