I have proclaimedgladtidingsof righteousnessin the greatcongregation;Behold,I will not restrainmy lips,O LORD,You know.
Our hearthas not turnedback,And our stepshave not deviatedfrom Your way,
But as for me, my feetcamecloseto stumbling,My stepshad almostslipped.
The naivebelieveseverything,But the sensiblemanconsidershis steps.
Then he taughtme and saidto me, "Let your heartholdfastmy words;Keepmy commandmentsand live;
"Listento Me, you who knowrighteousness,A peoplein whose heartis My law;Do not fearthe reproachof man,Norbe dismayedat their revilings.
"But thisis the covenantwhichI will makewith the houseof Israelafterthosedays,"declaresthe LORD,"I will putMy lawwithinthem and on their heartI will writeit; and I will be their God,and they shall be My people.
"Of oaksfrom Bashanthey have madeyour oars;With ivorythey have inlaidyour deckof boxwoodfrom the coastlandsof Cyprus.
"Thesewords,whichI am commandingyou today,shall be on your heart.
"FOR THISIS THE COVENANTTHAT I WILL MAKEWITH THE HOUSEOF ISRAELAFTERTHOSEDAYS,SAYSTHE LORD:I WILL PUTMY LAWSINTO THEIR MINDS,AND I WILL WRITETHEM ON THEIR HEARTS.AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD,AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
