From menwith Your hand,O LORD,From menof the world,whose portionis in [this] life,And whose bellyYou fillwith Your treasure;They are satisfiedwith children,And leavetheir abundanceto their babes.
"The tentsof the destroyersprosper,And those who provokeGodare secure,WhomGodbringsinto their power.
"Whoamong allthesedoes not knowThat the handof the LORDhas donethis,
"For whatdoes he carefor his householdafterhim, When the numberof his monthsis cutoff?
"Yet He filledtheir houseswith good[things]; But the counselof the wickedis farfrom me.
"Surelyeverymanwalksabout as a phantom;Surelythey makean uproarfor nothing;He amasses[riches] and does not knowwhowill gatherthem.
Behold,theseare the wicked;And alwaysat ease,they have increased[in] wealth.
Ifyou seekher as silverAnd searchfor her as for hiddentreasures;
"The kingdomof heavenis likea treasurehiddenin the field,whicha manfoundand hid[again]; and from joyover it he goesand sellsallthat he hasand buysthat field.
"But Abrahamsaid,'Child,rememberthat duringyour lifeyou receivedyour good things,and likewiseLazarusbad things;but nowhe is being comfortedhere,and you are in agony.
"And his masterpraisedthe unrighteousmanagerbecausehe had actedshrewdly;for the sonsof thisageare more shrewdin relationto their ownkindthanthe sonsof light.
"Ifyou were of the world,the worldwould loveits own;but becauseyou are not of the world,but I choseyou out of the world,becauseof thisthe worldhatesyou.
"I have giventhem Your word;and the worldhas hatedthem, becausethey are not of the world,evenas I amnot of the world.
And He was sayingto them, "You are from below,I amfrom above;you are of thisworld,I amnot of thisworld.
You have lived luxuriouslyon the earthand led a life of wanton pleasure;you have fattenedyour heartsin a dayof slaughter.
