WhenHe had takenthe book,the fourliving creaturesand the twenty-foureldersfell downbeforethe Lamb,each oneholdinga harpand goldenbowlsfullof incense,whichare the prayersof the saints.
ThereforeI wantthe menin everyplaceto pray,liftingup holyhands,withoutwrathand dissension.
"For from the risingof the sunevento its setting,My name[will be] greatamong the nations,and in everyplaceincenseis going to be offeredto My name,and a grain offering[that is] pure;for My name[will be] greatamong the nations,"saysthe LORDof hosts.
The sacrificeof the wickedis an abominationto the LORD,But the prayerof the uprightis His delight.
whileI was stillspeakingin prayer,then the manGabriel,whomI had seenin the visionpreviously,cameto me in [my] extremewearinessabout the timeof the eveningoffering.
Liftup your handsto the sanctuaryAnd blessthe LORD.
SoI will blessYou as long as I live;I will liftup my handsin Your name.
Hearthe voiceof my supplicationswhen I cryto You for help,When I liftup my handstowardYour holysanctuary.
In the morning,O LORD,You will hearmy voice;In the morningI will order[my] [prayer] to You and [eagerly] watch.
Then everyonewho trembledat the wordsof the Godof Israelon accountof the unfaithfulnessof the exilesgatheredto me, and I satappalleduntilthe eveningoffering.
"The onelambyou shall offerin the morningand the otherlambyou shall offerat twilight;
NowPeterand Johnwere goingup to the templeat the ninth[hour], the hourof prayer.
At the timeof the offeringof the [evening] sacrifice,Elijahthe prophetcamenearand said,"O LORD,the Godof Abraham,Isaacand Israel,todaylet it be knownthat You are Godin Israeland that I am Your servantand I have doneallthesethingsat Your word.
Firealso cameforthfrom the LORDand consumedthe two hundredand fiftymenwho were offeringthe incense.
and the altarof incenseand its poles,and the anointingoiland the fragrantincense,and the screenfor the doorwayat the entranceof the tabernacle;
