They saidto him, "ThussaysHezekiah,'Thisdayis a dayof distress,rebuke,and rejection;for childrenhave cometo birthand thereis nostrengthto [deliver].
"Those who livein my houseand my maidsconsiderme a stranger.I ama foreignerin their sight.
Answerme when I call,O Godof my righteousness!You have relievedme in my distress;Be graciousto me and hearmy prayer.
Be graciousto me, O God,be graciousto me, For my soultakesrefugein You; And in the shadowof Your wingsI will takerefugeUntildestructionpassesby.
He was despisedand forsakenof men,A manof sorrowsand acquaintedwith grief;And like one from whom men hidetheir faceHe was despised,and we did not esteemHim.
Let him givehis cheekto the smiter,Let him be filledwith reproach.
"I will not let you hearinsultsfrom the nationsanymore,norwill you beardisgracefrom the peoplesanylonger,norwill you cause your nationto stumbleanylonger,"declaresthe LordGOD.'"
Thereforeprophesyconcerningthe landof Israeland sayto the mountainsand to the hills,to the ravinesand to the valleys,"Thussaysthe LordGOD,'Behold,I have spokenin My jealousyand in My wrathbecauseyou have enduredthe insultsof the nations.'
Nowthe Pharisees,who were lovers of money,were listeningto allthese thingsand were scoffingat Him.
And the peoplestoodby, lookingon. And eventhe rulerswere sneeringat Him, saying,"He savedothers;let Him saveHimselfifthisis the Christof God,His Chosen One."
