Sheoland Abaddonare neversatisfied,Norare the eyesof manever satisfied.
"Nakedis SheolbeforeHim, And Abaddonhasnocovering.
Sheoland Abaddon[lie open] beforethe LORD,Howmuchmorethe heartsof men!
When you setyour eyeson it, it is gone. For [wealth] certainlymakesitself wingsLike an eaglethat flies[toward] the heavens.
As in waterface[reflects] face,Sothe heartof man[reflects] man.
Allthingsare wearisome;Manis not ableto tell[it]. The eyeis not satisfiedwith seeing,Noris the earfilledwith hearing.
Therewas a certainmanwithouta dependent, havingneithera sonnora brother, yet therewas noendto allhis labor.Indeed, his eyeswere not satisfiedwith riches[and he never asked], "And for whomam I laboringand deprivingmyselfof pleasure?"Thistoois vanityand it is a grievoustask.
Alla man'slaboris for his mouthand yetthe appetiteis not satisfied.
ThereforeSheolhas enlargedits throatand openedits mouthwithoutmeasure; And Jerusalem's splendor, her multitude, her din[of revelry] and the jubilantwithin her, descend[into it].
"But your eyesand your heartAre [intent] onlyupon your own dishonestgain,And on sheddinginnocentbloodAnd on practicingoppressionand extortion."
"Furthermore, winebetraysthe haughtyman,So that he does not stayat home.He enlargeshis appetitelike Sheol,And he is like death, neversatisfied. He also gathersto himself allnationsAnd collectsto himself allpeoples.
"[You] lookfor much, but behold,[it comes] to little;when you bring[it] home,I blowit [away]. Why?"declaresthe LORDof hosts,"Becauseof My housewhich[lies] desolate, while eachof you runsto his own house.
For allthat is in the world, the lustof the fleshand the lustof the eyesand the boastful prideof life,is not from the Father, but is from the world.
