A hot-temperedmanstirsup strife,But the slowto angercalmsa dispute.
It is betterto be humblein spiritwith the lowlyThanto dividethe spoilwith the proud.
A grayheadis a crownof glory;It is foundin the wayof righteousness.
The lotis castinto the lap,But its everydecisionis from the LORD.
A man'sdiscretionmakeshim slowto anger,And it is his gloryto overlooka transgression.
By forbearancea rulermay be persuaded,And a softtonguebreaksthe bone.
[Like] a citythat is brokeninto [and] withoutwallsIs a manwhohasnocontrolover his spirit.
The endof a matteris betterthanits beginning;Patienceof spiritis betterthanhaughtinessof spirit.
Do not be eagerin your heartto be angry,For angerresidesin the bosomof fools.
