The wickedis thrustdownby his wrongdoing,But the righteoushasa refugewhen he dies.
"For Your salvationI wait,O LORD.
"ThoughHe slayme, I will hopein Him. NeverthelessI will arguemy waysbeforeHim.
"He is drivenfrom lightinto darkness,And chasedfrom the inhabitedworld.
You will makeknownto me the pathof life;In Your presenceis fullnessof joy;In Your righthandthere are pleasuresforever.
As for me, I shall beholdYour facein righteousness;I will be satisfiedwith Your likenesswhen I awake.
EventhoughI walkthrough the valleyof the shadowof death,I fearnoevil,for You are with me; Your rodand Your staff,they comfortme.
Markthe blamelessman,and beholdthe upright;For the manof peacewill have a posterity.
Beforeyour potscan feel[the fire of] thornsHe will sweepthem awaywith a whirlwind,the greenand the burningalike.
With Your counselYou will guideme, And afterwardreceiveme to glory.
The righteousnessof the blamelesswill smoothhis way,But the wickedwill fallby his own wickedness.
Wisdomrestsin the heartof one who hasunderstanding,But in the heartsof foolsit is madeknown.
For a righteousmanfallsseventimes,and risesagain, But the wickedstumblein [time of] calamity.
His own iniquitieswill capturethe wicked,And he will be heldwith the cordsof his sin.
Thereforehis calamitywill comesuddenly;Instantlyhe will be brokenand therewill be nohealing.
"NowLord,You are releasingYour bond-servantto departin peace,Accordingto Your word;
ThenHe saidagainto them, "I goaway,and you will seekMe, and will diein your sin;whereI am going,you cannotcome."
"ThereforeI saidto you that you will diein your sins;for unlessyou believethat I am[He], you will diein your sins."
WhatifGod,although willingto demonstrateHis wrathand to makeHis powerknown,enduredwith muchpatiencevesselsof wrathpreparedfor destruction?
indeed,we hadthe sentenceof deathwithinourselvessothat we would not trustin ourselves,but in Godwho raisesthe dead;
we are of good courage,I say, and preferratherto be absentfrom the bodyand to be at homewith the Lord.
For to me, to liveis Christand to dieis gain.
But I am hard-pressedfrom both[directions], havingthe desireto departand be with Christ,for [that] is very muchbetter;
Whilethey are saying,"Peaceand safety!"thendestructionwill comeupon them suddenlylikelabor painsupon a woman with child,and they will not escape.
The Lordwill rescueme from everyevildeed,and will bring me safelyto His heavenlykingdom;to Him [be] the gloryforeverand ever.Amen.
And I hearda voicefrom heaven,saying,"Write,Blessedare the deadwho diein the Lordfrom nowon!'" "Yes,"saysthe Spirit,"sothat they may restfrom their labors,for their deedsfollowwith them."
