The thoughtsof the righteousare just,[But] the counselsof the wickedare deceitful.
Let the wickedforsakehis wayAnd the unrighteousmanhis thoughts;And let him returnto the LORD,And He will havecompassionon him, And to our God,For He will abundantlypardon.
Searchme, O God,and knowmy heart;Tryme and knowmy anxiousthoughts;
Washyour heartfrom evil,O Jerusalem,That you may be saved.Howlongwill your wickedthoughtsLodgewithinyou?
but we have renouncedthe things hiddenbecause of shame,not walkingin craftinessoradulteratingthe wordof God,but by the manifestationof truthcommendingourselvesto everyman'sconsciencein the sightof God.
Thereforedo not go on passing judgmentbeforethe time,[but wait] untilthe Lordcomeswhowill bothbring to lightthe things hiddenin the darknessand disclosethe motivesof [men's] hearts;and theneach man'spraisewill cometo him from God.
and they plotted togetherto seizeJesusby stealthand killHim.
Thenwhen Herodsawthat he had been trickedby the magi,he became veryenraged,and sentand slewallthe male childrenwho were in Bethlehemand allits vicinity,from two years oldand under,accordingto the timewhichhe had determinedfrom the magi.
The devisingof follyis sin,And the scofferis an abominationto men.
The desireof the righteousis onlygood,[But] the expectationof the wickedis wrath.
I will meditateon Your preceptsAnd regardYour ways.
An excellentwifeis the crownof her husband,But she who shames[him] is like rottennessin his bones.
The wordsof the wickedliein waitfor blood,But the mouthof the uprightwill deliverthem.
The wisdomof the sensibleis to understandhis way,But the foolishnessof foolsis deceit.
"They bendtheir tongue[like] their bow;Liesand not truthprevailin the land;For they proceedfrom evilto evil,And they do not knowMe," declaresthe LORD.
"Everyonedeceiveshis neighborAnd does not speakthe truth,They have taughttheir tongueto speaklies;They wearythemselves committinginiquity.
