Moseswas angrywith the officersof the army,the captainsof thousandsand the captainsof hundreds,who had comefrom servicein the war.
Then Davidnumberedthe peoplewhowere with him and setoverthem commandersof thousandsand commandersof hundreds.
He saidto him, "Thussaysthe LORD,'Becauseyou have letgoout of [your] handthe manwhom I had devotedto destruction,therefore your lifeshall gofor his life,and your peoplefor his people.'"
So the manof Godwas angrywith him and said,"You should have struckfiveorsixtimes,thenyou would have struckAramuntilyou would have destroyed[it]. But nowyou shall strikeAram[only] threetimes."
It cameabout, as soonas Moses camenearthe camp,that he sawthe calfand [the] dancing;and Moses'angerburned,and he threwthe tabletsfrom his handsand shatteredthem at the footof the mountain.
Aaronsaid,"Do not let the angerof my lordburn;you knowthe peopleyourself,that they are prone to evil.
But Mosessearchedcarefullyfor the goatof the sinoffering,and behold,it had been burnedup! So he was angrywith Aaron'ssurvivingsonsEleazarand Ithamar,saying,
(Now the manMoseswas veryhumble,morethananymanwhowas on the faceof the earth.)
Mosesand Eleazarthe priestand allthe leadersof the congregationwentout to meetthem outsidethe camp.
And Mosessaidto them, "Have you sparedallthe women?
Then the officerswhowere over the thousandsof the army,the captainsof thousandsand the captainsof hundreds,approachedMoses,
BE ANGRY,AND [yet] DO NOT SIN;do not let the sungo downon your anger,
"He will appointfor himself commandersof thousandsand of fifties,and [some] to dohis plowingand to reaphis harvestand to makehis weaponsof warand equipmentfor his chariots.
