And he lookedat Amalekand tookup his discourseand said,"Amalekwas the firstof the nations,But his end[shall be] destruction."
Timnawas a concubineof Esau'ssonEliphazand she boreAmalekto Eliphaz.Theseare the sonsof Esau'swifeAdah.
They destroyedthe remnantof the Amalekiteswhoescaped,and have livedthereto thisday.
AftertheseeventsKingAhasueruspromotedHaman,the sonof Hammedathathe Agagite,and advancedhim and establishedhis authorityoverallthe princeswho[were] with him.
So the kingcommandedthat it should be doneso;and an edictwas issuedin Susa,and Haman'stensonswere hanged.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Writethisin a bookas a memorialand reciteit to Joshua,that I will utterlyblotout the memoryof Amalekfrom underheaven."
and he said,"The LORDhas sworn;the LORDwill have waragainst Amalekfrom generationto generation."
Then Amalekcameand foughtagainstIsraelat Rephidim.
"One from Jacobshall havedominion,And will destroythe remnantfrom the city."
"But ships[shall come] from the coastof Kittim,And they shall afflictAsshurand will afflictEber;So they also[will come] to destruction."
"Waterwill flowfrom his buckets,And his seed[will be] by manywaters,And his kingshall be higherthanAgag,And his kingdomshall be exalted.
For it was whenIsraelhad sown,that the Midianiteswould comeup with the Amalekitesand the sonsof the eastand goagainstthem.
He actedvaliantlyand defeatedthe Amalekites,and deliveredIsraelfrom the handsof those who plunderedthem.
"Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,I will punishAmalek[for] whathe didto Israel,howhe sethimself against him on the waywhile he was comingup from Egypt.
Then it happenedwhen Davidand his mencameto Ziklagon the thirdday,that the Amalekiteshad madea raidon the Negevand on Ziklag,and had overthrownZiklagand burnedit with fire;
Davidslaughteredthem from the twilightuntilthe eveningof the nextday;and not a manof them escaped,exceptfourhundredyoungmenwhorodeon camelsand fled.
