Then the sonsof Israeljourneyed,and campedin the plainsof Moabbeyondthe Jordan[opposite] Jericho.
Likewise, alsoallthe Jewswhowere in Moaband among the sonsof Ammonand in Edomand whowere in allthe [other] countries,heardthat the kingof Babylonhad lefta remnantfor Judah,and that he had appointedoverthem Gedaliahthe sonof Ahikam,the sonof Shaphan.
and from Bamothto the valleythat is in the landof Moab,at the topof Pisgahwhich overlooksthe wasteland.
So Mosesand Eleazarthe priestspokewith them in the plainsof Moabby the Jordanat Jericho,saying,
They broughtthe captivesand the preyand the spoilto Moses,and to Eleazarthe priestand to the congregationof the sonsof Israel,to the campat the plainsof Moab,whichare by the Jordan[opposite] Jericho.
"For we will not havean inheritancewith them on the othersideof the Jordanand beyond,becauseour inheritancehas fallento us on this sideof the Jordantoward the east."
"The twoand a halftribeshave receivedtheir possessionacrossthe Jordanopposite Jericho,eastwardtoward the sunrising."
Now the LORDspoketo Mosesin the plainsof Moabby the Jordan[opposite] Jericho,saying,
Theseare the commandmentsand the ordinanceswhichthe LORDcommandedto the sonsof IsraelthroughMosesin the plainsof Moabby the Jordan[opposite] Jericho.
Acrossthe Jordanin the landof Moab,Mosesundertookto expoundthislaw,saying,
"Thus we tookthe landat that timefrom the handof the twokingsof the Amoriteswhowere beyondthe Jordan,from the valleyof Arnonto MountHermon
Now Moseswentup from the plainsof Moabto MountNebo,to the topof Pisgah,whichis oppositeJericho.And the LORDshowedhim allthe land,Gileadas faras Dan,
So the sonsof Israelweptfor Mosesin the plainsof Moabthirtydays;then the daysof weeping[and] mourningfor Mosescameto an end.
the waterswhich were flowingdownfrom abovestood[and] roseup in oneheap,a greatdistanceaway at Adam,the citythat is besideZarethan;and those which were flowingdowntowardthe seaof the Arabah,the SaltSea,were completelycutoff.So the peoplecrossedoppositeJericho.
