Thereforeit is saidin the Bookof the Warsof the LORD,"Wahebin Suphah,And the wadisof the Arnon,
and he told[them] to teachthe sonsof Judah[the song of] the bow;behold,it is writtenin the bookof Jashar.
Then, like fleeingbirds[or] scatterednestlings,The daughtersof Moabwill be at the fordsof the Arnon.
From therethey journeyedand campedon the othersideof the Arnon,whichis in the wildernessthat comesout of the borderof the Amorites,for the Arnonis the borderof Moab,betweenMoaband the Amorites.
And the slopeof the wadisThat extendsto the siteof Ar,And leansto the borderof Moab."
Thenbeginningwith Mosesand with allthe prophets,He explainedto them the things concerningHimselfin allthe Scriptures.
Arise,setout, and passthroughthe valleyof Arnon.Look!I have givenSihonthe Amorite,kingof Heshbon,and his landinto your hand;beginto takepossessionand contendwith him in battle.
So the sunstoodstill,and the moonstopped,Untilthe nationavengedthemselves of their enemies.Is it not writtenin the bookof Jashar?And the sunstoppedin the middleof the skyand did not hastento go[down] for about a wholeday.
Then Saulsaidto David,"Hereis my olderdaughterMerab;I will giveher to you as a wife,onlybe a valiantmanfor me and fightthe LORD'Sbattles."For Saulthought,"My handshall not be against him, but let the handof the Philistinesbe against him."
