"Thisis the statuteof the lawwhichthe LORDhas commanded,saying,'Speakto the sonsof Israelthat they bringyou an unblemishedredheiferin whichis nodefect[and] on whicha yokehas neverbeen placed.
Your lambshall be an unblemishedmalea yearold;you may takeit from the sheepor from the goats.
"Comenow,and let us reasontogether," Saysthe LORD,"Thoughyour sinsare as scarlet,They will be as whiteas snow;Thoughthey are redlike crimson,They will be like wool.
"The yokeof my transgressionsis bound;By His handthey are knittogether.They have comeupon my neck;He has made my strengthfail.The Lordhas givenme into the handsOf [those against whom] I am not ableto stand.
But ifhis offeringis from the flock,of the sheeporof the goats,for a burntoffering,he shall offerit a malewithoutdefect.
Ifhis offeringis a burntofferingfrom the herd,he shall offerit, a malewithoutdefect;he shall offerit at the doorwayof the tentof meeting,that he may be acceptedbeforethe LORD.
"[As for] the livebird,he shall takeit together with the cedarwoodand the scarletstringand the hyssop,and shall dipthem and the livebirdin the bloodof the birdthat was slainoverthe runningwater.
Then the LORDspoketo Mosesand Aaron,saying,
The priestshall takecedarwoodand hyssopand scarlet[material] and castit into the midstof the burningheifer.
Then Eleazarthe priestsaidto the menof warwho had goneto battle,"Thisis the statuteof the lawwhichthe LORDhas commandedMoses:
The angelansweredand saidto her, "The HolySpiritwill comeupon you, and the powerof the Most Highwill overshadowyou; and for that reasonthe holyChildshall be calledthe Sonof God.
"It shall be that the citywhich is nearestto the slainman,that is, the eldersof that city,shall takea heiferof the herd,whichhas not been workedand whichhas not pulledin a yoke;
For it was fittingfor us to have sucha high priest,holy,innocent,undefiled,separatedfrom sinnersand exaltedabove the heavens;
since they [relate] onlyto foodand drinkand variouswashings,regulationsfor the bodyimposeduntila timeof reformation.
but with preciousblood,as of a lambunblemishedand spotless,[the blood] of Christ.
WHOCOMMITTEDNOSIN,NORWAS ANY DECEITFOUNDIN HIS MOUTH;
and from JesusChrist,the faithfulwitness,the firstbornof the dead,and the rulerof the kingsof the earth.To Him who lovesus and releasedus from our sinsby His blood--
