"Listen,you mountains,to the indictmentof the LORD,And you enduringfoundationsof the earth,Becausethe LORDhas a caseagainstHis people;Even with IsraelHe will dispute.
"Then the channelsof the seaappeared,The foundationsof the worldwere laidbareBy the rebukeof the LORD,At the blastof the breathof His nostrils.
"Then the earthshookand quaked,The foundationsof heavenwere tremblingAnd were shaken,becauseHe was angry.
He establishedthe earthupon its foundations,So that it will not totterforeverand ever.
When He setfor the seaits boundarySo that the waterwould not transgressHis command,When He markedout the foundationsof the earth;
"Comenow,and let us reasontogether," Saysthe LORD,"Thoughyour sinsare as scarlet,They will be as whiteas snow;Thoughthey are redlike crimson,They will be like wool.
The LORDarisesto contend,And standsto judgethe people.
"PutMe in remembrance,let us argueour casetogether;Stateyour [cause], that you may be provedright.
"And now,O inhabitantsof Jerusalemand menof Judah,JudgebetweenMe and My vineyard.
"ThereforeI will yetcontendwith you," declaresthe LORD,"And with your sons'sonsI will contend.
A clamorhas cometo the endof the earth,Becausethe LORDhas a controversywith the nations.He is enteringinto judgmentwith allflesh;As for the wicked,He has giventhem to the sword,'declaresthe LORD."
Thussaysthe LORD,"Ifthe heavensabovecan be measuredAnd the foundationsof the earthsearchedout below,Then I will alsocastoffallthe offspringof IsraelFor allthat they have done,"declaresthe LORD.
The LORDalso has a disputewith Judah,And will punishJacobaccording to his ways;He will repayhim according to his deeds.
In the wombhe tookhis brotherby the heel,And in his maturityhe contendedwith God.
Listento the wordof the LORD,O sonsof Israel,For the LORDhas a caseagainstthe inhabitantsof the land,Becausethereis nofaithfulnessor kindnessOr knowledgeof Godin the land.
Hearnowwhatthe LORDis saying,"Arise,pleadyour casebeforethe mountains,And let the hillshearyour voice.
For a fireis kindledin My anger,And burnsto the lowestpartof Sheol,And consumesthe earthwith its yield,And setson firethe foundationsof the mountains.
I callheavenand earthto witnessagainst you today,that you will surelyperishquicklyfrom the landwhereyou are goingoverthe Jordanto possessit. You shall not livelongon it, but will be utterlydestroyed.
