Thenthe chiefpriestsand the eldersof the peoplewere gathered togetherin the courtof the high priest,namedCaiaphas;
They attack,they lurk,They watchmy steps,As they have waited[to take] my life.
But I was like a gentlelambledto the slaughter;And I did not knowthat they had devisedplotsagainstme, [saying], "Let us destroythe treewith its fruit,And let us cuthim offfrom the landof the living,That his namebe rememberednomore."
"But ifyou do not listento Me to keepthe sabbathdayholyby not carryinga loadand comingin through the gatesof Jerusalemon the sabbathday,then I will kindlea firein its gatesand it will devourthe palacesof Jerusalemand not be quenched."'"
NowPeterwas sittingoutsidein the courtyard,and a servant-girlcameto him and said,"You toowere with Jesusthe Galilean."
Thenthe soldiersof the governortookJesusinto the Praetoriumand gatheredthe whole[Roman] cohortaroundHim.
Peterhad followedHim at a distance,rightinto the courtyardof the high priest;and he was sittingwith the officersand warminghimself at the fire.
As Peterwas belowin the courtyard,oneof the servant-girlsof the high priestcame,
The soldierstook Him awayinto the palace(that is, the Praetorium),and they called togetherthe whole[Roman] cohort.
After they had kindleda firein the middleof the courtyardand had sat down together,Peterwas sittingamongthem.
in the high priesthoodof Annasand Caiaphas,the wordof Godcameto John,the sonof Zacharias,in the wilderness.
Nowthe chief priestsand the Phariseeshad givenordersthat ifanyoneknewwhereHe was, he was to reportit, sothat they might seizeHim.

Thenthey ledJesusfrom Caiaphasinto the Praetorium,and it was early;and they themselvesdid not enterinto the Praetoriumsothat they would not be defiled,but might eatthe Passover.
