And they senttheir disciplesto Him, along with the Herodians,saying,"Teacher,we knowthat You are truthfuland teachthe wayof Godin truth,and deferto no one;for You are not partialto any.
The Phariseeswentout and immediately[began] conspiringwith the HerodiansagainstHim, [as] [to] howthey might destroyHim.
They questionedHim, saying,"Teacher,we knowthat You speakand teachcorrectly,and You are not partialto any, but teachthe wayof Godin truth.
They cameand saidto Him, "Teacher,we knowthat You are truthfuland deferto no one;for You are not partialto any,but teachthe wayof Godin truth.Is it lawfulto paya poll-taxto Caesar,ornot?
And He was giving ordersto them, saying,"Watchout! Bewareof the leavenof the Phariseesand the leavenof Herod."
And we knowthat the Sonof Godhas come,and has givenus understandingsothat we may knowHim whois true;and we are in Him who is true,in His SonJesusChrist.Thisis the true Godand eternallife.
ThereforePilatesaidto Him, "SoYou are a king?"Jesusanswered,"You say[correctly] that I ama king.For thisI have been born,and for thisI have comeinto the world,to testifyto the truth.Everyonewho is of the truthhearsMy voice."
Jesussaidto him, "I amthe way,and the truth,and the life;no onecomesto the Fatherbut throughMe.
"He who speaksfrom himselfseekshis ownglory;but He who is seekingthe gloryof the One who sentHim, He is true,and there is nounrighteousnessin Him.
But the wisdomfrom aboveis firstpure,thenpeaceable,gentle,reasonable,fullof mercyand goodfruits,unwavering,without hypocrisy.
but justas we have been approvedby Godto be entrustedwith the gospel,sowe speak,not as pleasingmen,but Godwho examinesour hearts.
But from thosewho were of highreputation(whatthey were makesnodifferenceto me; Godshowsnopartiality)--well,thosewho were of reputationcontributednothingto me.
For am I nowseeking the favorof men,orof God?Oram I strivingto pleasemen?IfI were stilltrying to pleasemen,I would not be a bond-servantof Christ.
Thereforefrom nowon we recognizeno oneaccordingto the flesh;eventhoughwe have knownChristaccordingto the flesh,yetnowwe know[Him] [in this way] no longer.
but we have renouncedthe things hiddenbecause of shame,not walkingin craftinessoradulteratingthe wordof God,but by the manifestationof truthcommendingourselvesto everyman'sconsciencein the sightof God.
For we are not likemany,peddlingthe wordof God,but as from sincerity,but as from God,we speakin Christin the sightof God.
And Jesusansweredhim, "Simon,I havesomethingto sayto you." And he replied,"Sayit, Teacher."
As He was settingout on a journey,a manranup to Him and knelt beforeHim, and askedHim, "GoodTeacher,whatshall I doto inheriteternallife?"
ImmediatelyJudas wentto Jesusand said,"Hail,Rabbi!"and kissedHim.
And He said,"Gointo the cityto a certain man,and sayto him, 'The Teachersays,"My timeis near;I [am to] keepthe Passoverat your house with My disciples."'"
soalsothe second,and the third,downto the seventh.
asking,"Teacher,Mosessaid,IFA MANDIESHAVINGNOCHILDREN,HIS BROTHERAS NEXT OF KIN SHALL MARRYHIS WIFE,AND RAISEUP CHILDRENFOR HIS BROTHER.'
"So I alsohave madeyou despisedand abasedbefore allthe people,justas you are not keepingMy waysbut are showingpartialityin the instruction.
"true instructionwas in his mouthand unrighteousnesswas not foundon his lips;he walkedwith Me in peaceand uprightness,and he turnedmanybackfrom iniquity.
A manwho flattershis neighborIs spreadinga netfor his steps.
His speechwas smootherthanbutter,But his heartwas war;His wordswere softerthanoil,Yet they were drawnswords.
They speakfalsehoodto oneanother;With flatteringlipsand with a doubleheartthey speak.
Thereis nothingreliablein whatthey say;Their inwardpartis destruction[itself]. Their throatis an opengrave;They flatterwith their tongue.
But Micaiahsaid,"As the LORDlives,whatthe LORDsaysto me, that I shall speak."
Who saidof his fatherand his mother,'I did not considerthem'; And he did not acknowledgehis brothers,Nordid he regardhis own sons,For they observedYour word,And keptYour covenant.
Thenthey sentsomeof the Phariseesand Herodiansto Him in orderto trapHim in a statement.
