They saidto him, "In Bethlehemof Judea;for thisis whathas been writtenby the prophet:
So Racheldiedand was buriedon the wayto Ephrath(that is, Bethlehem).
Nowafter Jesuswas bornin Bethlehemof Judeain the daysof Herodthe king,magifrom the eastarrivedin Jerusalem,saying,
Gathering togetherallthe chief priestsand scribesof the people,he inquiredof them wherethe Messiahwas to be born.
"Has not the Scripturesaidthat the Christcomesfrom the descendantsof David,and from Bethlehem,the villagewhereDavidwas?"
[Included] also [were] Kattahand Nahalaland Shimronand Idalahand Bethlehem;twelvecitieswith their villages.
Now there was a youngmanfrom Bethlehemin Judah,of the familyof Judah,whowas a Levite;and he was stayingthere.
Now it cameabout in the dayswhen the judgesgoverned,that there was a faminein the land.And a certain manof Bethlehemin Judahwentto sojournin the landof Moabwith his wifeand his twosons.
So they bothwentuntilthey cameto Bethlehem.And when they had cometo Bethlehem,allthe citywas stirredbecauseof them, and the women said,"Is thisNaomi?"
Now behold,Boazcamefrom Bethlehemand saidto the reapers,"May the LORDbe with you." And they saidto him, "May the LORDblessyou."
Allthe peoplewhowere in the court,and the elders,said,"[We are] witnesses.May the LORDmakethe womanwho is cominginto your homelike Racheland Leah,bothof whombuiltthe houseof Israel;and may you achievewealthin Ephrathahand becomefamousin Bethlehem.
Now the LORDsaidto Samuel,"Howlongwill you grieveoverSaul,since I have rejectedhim from beingkingoverIsrael?Fillyour hornwith oiland go;I will sendyou to Jessethe Bethlehemite,for I have selecteda kingfor Myself among his sons."
