NowJohnhimselfhada garmentof camel'shairand a leatherbeltaroundhis waist;and his foodwas locustsand wildhoney.
"Also it will comeabout in that daythat the prophetswill eachbe ashamedof his visionwhen he prophesies,and they will not puton a hairyrobein orderto deceive;
at that timethe LORDspokethroughIsaiahthe sonof Amoz,saying,"Goand loosenthe sackclothfrom your hipsand takeyour shoesoffyour feet."And he didso,goingnakedand barefoot.
They answeredhim, "[He was] a hairymanwith a leathergirdleboundabout his loins."And he said,"It is Elijahthe Tishbite."
"And I will grant[authority] to my twowitnesses,and they will prophesyfor twelvehundredand sixtydays,clothedin sackcloth."
[I have been] in laborand hardship,throughmanysleepless nights,in hungerand thirst,oftenwithout food,in coldand exposure.
To thispresenthourwe are bothhungryand thirsty,and are poorly clothed,and are roughly treated,and are homeless;
"The manwho is refinedand verydelicateamong you shall be hostiletoward his brotherand toward the wifehe cherishesand toward the restof his childrenwhoremain,
As thesemen were going[away], Jesusbeganto speakto the crowdsaboutJohn,"Whatdid you goout into the wildernessto see?A reedshakenby the wind?
"But whatdid you goout to see?A prophet?Yes,I tellyou, and one who is morethan a prophet.
"But whatdid you goout to see?A mandressedin softclothing?Thosewho are splendidlyclothedand livein luxuryare [found] in royal palaces!
