The proudhave hiddena trapfor me, and cords;They have spreada netby the wayside;They have setsnaresfor me. Selah.
Those who seekmy lifelaysnares[for me]; And those who seekto injureme have threateneddestruction,And they devisetreacheryalldaylong.
Who cause a personto be indictedby a word,And ensnarehim who adjudicatesat the gate,And defraudthe onein the rightwith meaninglessarguments.
Then they said,"Comeand let us deviseplansagainstJeremiah.Surelythe lawis not going to be lostto the priest,norcounselto the sage,northe [divine] wordto the prophet!Comeon and let us strikeat him with [our] tongue,and let us givenoheedto anyof his words."
And Jesussaidto them, "Watchout and bewareof the leavenof the Phariseesand Sadducees."
They cameand saidto Him, "Teacher,we knowthat You are truthfuland deferto no one;for You are not partialto any,but teachthe wayof Godin truth.Is it lawfulto paya poll-taxto Caesar,ornot?
The Phariseeswentout and immediately[began] conspiringwith the HerodiansagainstHim, [as] [to] howthey might destroyHim.
And He was giving ordersto them, saying,"Watchout! Bewareof the leavenof the Phariseesand the leavenof Herod."
