"The sceptershall not departfrom Judah,Northe ruler'sstafffrom betweenhis feet,UntilShilohcomes,And to him [shall be] the obedienceof the peoples.
The kingsof the earthtaketheir standAnd the rulerstakecounseltogetherAgainstthe LORDand againstHis Anointed,saying,
For a childwill be bornto us, a sonwill be givento us; And the governmentwill reston His shoulders;And His namewill be calledWonderfulCounselor,MightyGod,EternalFather,Princeof Peace.
Jacobwas the fatherof Josephthe husbandof Mary,by whomJesuswas born,who is calledthe Messiah.
"She will beara Son;and you shall callHis nameJesus,for He will saveHis peoplefrom their sins."
SimonPeteranswered,"You are the Christ,the Sonof the livingGod."
ThenHe warnedthe disciplesthat they should tellno onethat He was the Christ.
"And howhas it [happened] to me, that the motherof my Lordwould cometo me?
And has raisedup a hornof salvationfor us In the houseof DavidHis servant--
And it had beenrevealedto him by the HolySpiritthat he would not seedeathbeforehe had seenthe Lord'sChrist.
Josephalsowentup from Galilee,from the cityof Nazareth,to Judea,to the cityof Davidwhichis calledBethlehem,becausehe was of the houseand familyof David,
He foundfirsthis ownbrotherSimonand saidto him, "We have foundthe Messiah"(whichtranslatedmeansChrist).
PhilipfoundNathanaeland saidto him, "We have foundHim of whomMosesin the Lawand [also] the Prophetswrote--Jesusof Nazareth,the sonof Joseph."
She saidto Him, "Yes,Lord;I have believedthat You are the Christ,the Sonof God,[even] He who comesinto the world."
but thesehave been writtensothat you may believethat Jesusis the Christ,the Sonof God;and that believingyou may havelifein His name.
The womansaidto Him, "I knowthat Messiahis coming(He who is calledChrist);whenthat Onecomes,He will declareall thingsto us."
and they were sayingto the woman,"It is no longerbecauseof what you saidthat we believe,for we have heardfor ourselvesand knowthat this Oneis indeedthe Saviorof the world."
"We have believedand have come to knowthat You are the Holy Oneof God."
Otherswere saying,"Thisis the Christ."Still otherswere saying,"Surelythe Christis not going to comefrom Galilee,is He?
"The wordwhichHe sentto the sonsof Israel,preachingpeacethroughJesusChrist(He is Lordof all)--
"From the descendantsof this man,accordingto promise,Godhas broughtto Israela Savior,Jesus,
explainingand giving evidencethat the Christhadto sufferand rise againfrom the dead,and [saying], "ThisJesuswhomI am proclaimingto you is the Christ."
"Thereforelet allthe houseof Israelknowfor certainthat Godhas madeHim bothLordand Christ--thisJesuswhomyou crucified."
"He is the one whom Godexaltedto His right handas a Princeand a Savior,to grantrepentanceto Israel,and forgivenessof sins.
The firstmanis from the earth,earthy;the secondmanis from heaven.
and that everytonguewill confessthat JesusChristis Lord,to the gloryof Godthe Father.
More thanthat, I countallthingsto be lossin viewof the surpassing valueof knowingChristJesusmy Lord,for whomI have suffered the lossof all things,and countthem but rubbishsothat I may gainChrist,
Thereforeas you have receivedChristJesusthe Lord,[so] walkin Him,
We have seenand testifythat the Fatherhas sentthe Son[to be] the Saviorof the world.
Whoeverbelievesthat Jesusis the Christis bornof God,and whoeverlovesthe Fatherlovesthe [child] bornof Him.
