Orifa personswearsthoughtlesslywith his lipsto doevilorto dogood,in whatevermatter a manmay speakthoughtlesslywith an oath,and it is hiddenfrom him, and then he comes to know[it], he will be guiltyin oneof these.
But the kingsparedMephibosheth,the sonof Jonathanthe sonof Saul,becauseof the oathof the LORDwhichwas betweenthem, betweenDavidand Saul'ssonJonathan.

so[much] that he promisedwith an oathto giveher whatevershe asked.
Although he was grieved,the kingcommanded[it] to be givenbecauseof his oaths,and because of his dinner guests.
And he sworeto her, "Whateveryou askof me, I will giveit to you; up to halfof my kingdom."
When it was day,the Jewsformed a conspiracyand boundthemselvesunder an oath,sayingthat they would neithereatnordrinkuntilthey had killedPaul.
