"Speakto the sonsof Israel,saying,'Ifa personsinsunintentionallyin anyof the thingswhichthe LORDhas commandednot to be done,and commitsanyof them,
Then AbimelechcalledAbrahamand saidto him, "Whathave you doneto us? And howhave I sinnedagainst you, that you have broughton me and on my kingdoma greatsin?You have doneto me thingsthat ought not to be done."
Whocan discern[his] errors?Acquitme of hidden[faults].
AlsokeepbackYour servantfrom presumptuous[sins]; Let them not ruleover me; ThenI will be blameless,And I shall be acquittedof greattransgression.
Do not letyour speechcause you to sinand do not sayin the presenceof the messenger[of God] that it was a mistake.Whyshould Godbe angryon accountof your voiceand destroythe workof your hands?
But ifa maneatsa holy[gift] unintentionally,then he shall addto it a fifthof it and shall givethe holy[gift] to the priest.
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,saying,
Now ifthe wholecongregationof Israelcommitserrorand the matterescapesthe noticeof the assembly,and they commitanyof the thingswhichthe LORDhas commandednot to be done,and they becomeguilty;
Whena leadersinsand unintentionallydoesanyoneof allthe thingswhichthe LORDhis Godhas commandednot to be done,and he becomesguilty,
Now ifanyoneof the commonpeoplesinsunintentionallyin doinganyof the thingswhichthe LORDhas commandednot to be done,and becomesguilty,
then you shall selectfor yourselves citiesto be your citiesof refuge,that the manslayerwho has killedany personunintentionallymay fleethere.
"Now thisis the caseof the manslayerwhomay fleethereand live:whenhe killshis friendunintentionally,not hatinghim previously--
even though I was formerlya blasphemerand a persecutorand a violent aggressor.YetI was shown mercybecauseI actedignorantlyin unbelief;
he candeal gentlywith the ignorantand misguided,sincehe himselfalsois besetwith weakness;
but into the second,onlythe high priest[enters] oncea year,not without[taking] blood,whichhe offersfor himselfand for the sinsof the peoplecommitted in ignorance.

But Jonathanhad not heardwhen his fatherputthe peopleunderoath;therefore, he putout the endof the staffthat [was] in his handand dippedit in the honeycomb,and puthis handto his mouth,and his eyesbrightened.
