Their possessionsand settlements[were] Bethelwith its towns,and to the eastNaaran,and to the westGezerwith its towns,and Shechemwith its townsas faras Ayyahwith its towns,
They journeyedfrom the mountainsof Abarimand campedin the plainsof Moabby the Jordan[opposite] Jericho.
Then the borderwentwestwardat Michmethathon the north,and the borderturnedabouteastwardto Taanath-shilohand continued[beyond] it to the eastof Janoah.
the waterswhich were flowingdownfrom abovestood[and] roseup in oneheap,a greatdistanceaway at Adam,the citythat is besideZarethan;and those which were flowingdowntowardthe seaof the Arabah,the SaltSea,were completelycutoff.So the peoplecrossedoppositeJericho.
Now Jerichowas tightlyshutbecauseof the sonsof Israel;noonewentout and noonecamein.
Then Joshuamade them takean oathat that time,saying,"Cursedbeforethe LORDis the manwhorisesup and buildsthiscityJericho;with [the loss of] his firstbornhe shall layits foundation,and with [the loss of] his youngestsonhe shall setup its gates."
