Thereforemanyof the Jewsreadthisinscription,for the placewhereJesuswas crucifiedwas nearthe city;and it was writtenin Hebrew,Latin[and] in Greek.
Nowthere was alsoan inscriptionaboveHim, "THISIS THE KINGOF THE JEWS."
Thereforewhen Pilateheardthesewords,he broughtJesusout, and sat downon the judgment seatat a placecalledThe Pavement,but in Hebrew,Gabbatha.
Thereforebecauseof the Jewishday of preparation,sincethe tombwas nearby,they laidJesusthere.
Nowthere is in Jerusalemby the sheep[gate] a pool,which is calledin HebrewBethesda,havingfiveporticoes.

They haveas kingoverthem, the angelof the abyss;his namein Hebrewis Abaddon,and in the Greekhe hasthe nameApollyon.
