Nowbeforethe Feastof the Passover,Jesusknowingthat His hourhad comethat He would departout of thisworldto the Father,having lovedHis ownwhowere in the world,He lovedthem to the end.
And Jesusansweredthem, saying,"The hourhas comefor the Sonof Manto be glorified.
We love,becauseHe firstlovedus.
"A newcommandmentI giveto you, that you loveoneanother,evenas I have lovedyou, that you alsoloveone another.
"I came forthfrom the Fatherand have comeinto the world;I am leavingthe worldagainand goingto the Father."
[Jesus], knowingthat the Fatherhad givenall thingsinto His hands,and that He had come forthfrom Godand was going backto God,
SoJesus,knowingall the thingsthat were comingupon Him, went forthand saidto them, "Whomdo you seek?"
whowill alsoconfirmyou to the end,blamelessin the dayof our LordJesusChrist.
"They are not of the world,evenas I amnot of the world.
Jesusspokethese things;and liftingup His eyesto heaven,He said,"Father,the hourhas come;glorifyYour Son,that the Sonmay glorifyYou,
and from JesusChrist,the faithfulwitness,the firstbornof the dead,and the rulerof the kingsof the earth.To Him who lovesus and releasedus from our sinsby His blood--
For we have becomepartakersof Christ,ifwe hold fastthe beginningof our assurancefirmuntilthe end,
"Now,Father,glorifyMe togetherwith Yourself,with the glorywhichI hadwith You beforethe worldwas.
ThenHe cameto the disciplesand saidto them, "Are you stillsleepingand resting?Behold,the houris at handand the Sonof Manis being betrayedinto the handsof sinners.
Therefore,prepareyour mindsfor action, keep sober[in spirit], fix your hopecompletelyon the graceto be broughtto you at the revelationof JesusChrist.
And we desirethat each oneof you showthe samediligencesoas to realize the full assuranceof hopeuntilthe end,
but Christ[was faithful] as a SonoverHis house--whosehousewe are, ifwe hold fastour confidenceand the boastof our hopefirmuntilthe end.
But in allthese thingswe overwhelmingly conquerthroughHim who lovedus.
and I have madeYour nameknown to them, and will make it known,sothat the lovewith whichYou lovedMe may be in them, and I in them."
"You heardthat I saidto you, 'I go away,and I will cometo you.' Ifyou lovedMe, you would have rejoicedbecauseI goto the Father,for the Fatheris greaterthan I.
Nowthe Passoverof the Jewswas near,and manywentup to Jerusalemout of the countrybeforethe Passoverto purifythemselves.
Sothey were seekingto seizeHim; and no manlaidhis handon Him, becauseHis hourhad not yetcome.
SoJesussaidto them, "My timeis not yethere,but your timeis alwaysopportune.
Nowthe Passover,the feastof the Jews,was near.
"While I was with you dailyin the temple,you did not layhandson Me; but thishourand the powerof darknessare yours."
Whenthe dayswere approachingfor His ascension,He was determinedto goto Jerusalem;
teachingthem to observeallthat I commandedyou; and lo,I amwith you always,evento the endof the age."
The LORDappearedto him from afar,[saying], "I have lovedyou with an everlastinglove;ThereforeI have drawnyou with lovingkindness.
ThesewordsHe spokein the treasury,as He taughtin the temple;and no oneseizedHim, becauseHis hourhad not yetcome.
Rejoicingin the world,His earth,And [having] my delightin the sonsof men.
The Passoverof the Jewswas near,and Jesuswentup to Jerusalem.
For somewere supposing,becauseJudashadthe money box,that Jesuswas sayingto him, "Buythe things we haveneedof for the feast";or else,that he should givesomethingto the poor.
but sothat the worldmay knowthat I lovethe Father,I doexactlyas the FathercommandedMe. Getup, let us gofrom here.
Afterthis,Jesus,knowingthat all thingshad alreadybeen accomplished,to fulfillthe Scripture,said,"I am thirsty."
