"They gropein darknesswith nolight,And He makes them staggerlike a drunkenman.
"He will not escapefrom darkness;The flamewill witherhis shoots,And by the breathof His mouthhe will goaway.
"He is drivenfrom lightinto darkness,And chasedfrom the inhabitedworld.
Completedarknessis heldin reservefor his treasures,And unfannedfirewill devourhim; It will consumethe survivorin his tent.
Ordarkness,so that you cannotsee,And an abundanceof watercoversyou.
"Othershave beenwith those who rebelagainst the light;They do not want to knowits waysNorabidein its paths.
"From the wickedtheir lightis withheld,And the upliftedarmis broken.
Then the LORDsaidto Moses,"Stretchout your handtowardthe sky,that there may be darknessoverthe landof Egypt,even a darknesswhich may be felt."
So Mosesstretchedout his handtowardthe sky,and there was thickdarknessin allthe landof Egyptfor threedays.
The wayof the wickedis like darkness;They do not knowover whatthey stumble.
We gropealong the walllike blindmen,We gropelike those who havenoeyes;We stumbleat middayas in the twilight,Among those whoare vigorous[we are] like deadmen.
"It will comeabout in that day,"declaresthe LordGOD,"That I will make the sungodown at noonAnd makethe earthdarkin broaddaylight.
and you will gropeat noon,as the blindmangropesin darkness,and you will not prosperin your ways;but you shall onlybe oppressedand robbedcontinually,with noneto saveyou.
