When He seta limitfor the rainAnd a coursefor the thunderbolt,
ThenHe sawit and declaredit; He establishedit and alsosearchedit out.
"Behold,Godis exalted,and we do not know[Him]; The numberof His yearsis unsearchable.
"For He drawsup the dropsof water,They distillrainfrom the mist,
"Can anyone understandthe spreadingof the clouds,The thunderingof His pavilion?
"He covers[His] handswith the lightning,And commandsit to strikethe mark.
"Alsowith moistureHe loadsthe thickcloud;He dispersesthe cloudof His lightning.
"Listencloselyto the thunderof His voice,And the rumblingthat goesout from His mouth.
"Underthe wholeheavenHe letsit loose,And His lightningto the endsof the earth.
"Afterit, a voiceroars;He thunderswith His majesticvoice,And He does not restrainthe lightnings when His voiceis heard.
"For to the snowHe says,'Fallon the earth,'And to the downpourand the rain,'Be strong.'
"Whohas clefta channelfor the flood,Or a wayfor the thunderbolt,
To bringrainon a landwithoutpeople,[On] a desertwithouta manin it,
To satisfythe wasteand desolateland And to make the seedsof grassto sprout?
He causes the vaporsto ascendfrom the endsof the earth;Who makeslightningsfor the rain,Who bringsforththe windfrom His treasuries.
Fireand hail,snowand clouds;Stormywind,fulfillingHis word;
"The LORDpossessedme at the beginningof His way,BeforeHis worksof old.
Are thereanyamong the idolsof the nationswho giverain?Orcan the heavensgrantshowers?Is it not You, O LORDour God?Therefore we hopein You, For You are the one who has doneallthesethings.
"Furthermore,I withheldthe rainfrom you While [there were] stillthreemonthsuntil harvest.Then I would sendrainon onecityAnd on anothercityI would not sendrain;Onepartwould be rainedon, While the partnot rainedon would dryup.
Askrainfrom the LORDat the timeof the springrain--The LORDwho makesthe stormclouds;And He will givethem showersof rain,vegetationin the fieldto [each] man.
